Just some ideas I have learned over the years to prepare for school
1. Make sure you keep to a schedule - be consistent
2. Follow through- if you give consequences for a behavior not acceptable that give the consequence- even if it is inconvenient for you
3. Work with your child and their teacher, guidance counselors, behavior specialists- believe it or not they are there to help your child be successful
4. BE INVOLVED with your child's education and the education plan
5. Take time to have fun -
6. Enroll your child in a sport- getting that extra energy out will help - with anger issues, ADHD, and whatever other initials your child may have
7. DON'T allow the diagnosis to label your child- be confident and know you are doing a great job!
